Show us how they say it where you live
This dictionary is written from the way people talk, not from other dictionaries. If an entry is missing a sense, if your province says it differently, or if a word is missing altogether, send it over. That is first-hand material, and it is the one thing nobody gets by copying.
Missing a word? Teach it to us
We read it by hand before publishing. If you give us your name, it goes on the entry.
Thank you. We will review it before publishing.
That did not go through. Try again, or send it to us at hola@diccionariopanama.com
What happens to what you send
A person reads it. We check it against real usage — how it is said on the street, a headline, a shop sign, a TV show — and the definition is written from scratch, never copied. If we need to, we will write back and ask you where you heard it.
Nothing goes up without review
No contribution goes straight onto the site. Everything starts as a draft and stays there until a named editor signs off on it, and sensitive words wait for a specialist on top of that. That is why it can take a while, and why it is worth something once it is up.
301 entries published, 171 reviewed and signed off by a named person. Who is behind this
Contributors get credited
If your contribution makes it into an entry, your name and your province go on that entry with it, in plain sight. If you would rather not have your name on it, say so when you send it and we will leave it off.
One thing that does matter
Send us how it is said, in your own words. Do not copy and paste from another dictionary, from Wikipedia, or from song lyrics: we cannot publish that, and it forces us to throw out the whole contribution.
