reggae en español
Also spelled: plena panameña · reggae panameño
Definition
The genre born in Panama in the 1980s when artists of Afro-Antillean descent began singing in Spanish over Jamaican riddims. It is the direct ancestor of much of the Latin urban music that followed — an origin the country claims with good reason and the world usually credits elsewhere.
