cerro Ancón

Also spelled: el Ancón

Definition

The hill overlooking the city, crowned by an oversized Panamanian flag. It lay inside the former Canal Zone, which is why flying the flag there is a symbol of sovereignty rather than decoration.

Example

We hiked up Cerro Ancón to see the city from above.Subimos al cerro Ancón a ver la ciudad de arriba.
